I also made treat bags. I found 3packs of small canvas tote bags, green for the boys and pink for the girls. I found a package of the little capsules that you put in water to make the sponge come out, that had boats and aquatic animals. I let my son do this part to get him involved! Then let them dry and picked out the best looking ones. Using fabric paint, I put the sponges onto the bag. This is how they turned out!!
He had a great time!! It was so nice to have all our close family and friends there to share in his special day!!
On his actual birthday, we took him to his favorite restaurant, Red Robin! Love their honey mustard!! Also if you sign up for their email, they send you a free burger on your birthday and kids get a free kids meal!! Zaxby's does too!! Red Robin came and sang Happy Birthday and he got a free ice cream!! He was so cute and kept saying all day,"I can't believe I am 5 now!!" Mommy can't either!
